Overview
The USG5000-GPIB adds a factory-installed IEEE 488.2 GPIB port to the USG5000M or USG5000V RF signal generator, enabling direct integration with GPIB-based automated test systems and legacy ATE platforms. This is a factory hardware option — the GPIB port is physically installed at the factory during manufacture and is not field-upgradeable. The option must be specified when ordering the instrument; it cannot be added after purchase.

This option is the right choice when:
ATE Integration — Your automated test system uses a GPIB bus and requires IEEE 488.2 instrument control.
Legacy Lab Infrastructure — Your lab uses GPIB controllers, switching matrices, or other instrumentation that communicates over IEEE 488.
Compatibility
This option is available on all USG5000M and USG5000V RF signal generators. The equivalent option for the USG3000 family is USG3000-GPIB.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add GPIB to my USG5000 after I've already purchased it?
No. The USG5000-GPIB is a factory-installed hardware option. The GPIB port is physically installed during manufacturing and cannot be added in the field after the instrument ships. If GPIB connectivity is needed, it must be specified at the time of order.
Does this option include LAN and USB connectivity as well?
LAN, USB Host, and USB Device are standard on all USG5000 instruments regardless of options. Adding USG5000-GPIB gives you GPIB in addition to those standard interfaces — all four interfaces are then available simultaneously.
Is the GPIB port on the front or rear panel?
The GPIB port is located on the rear panel alongside the other remote-control interfaces.
